About Selin Sebby

Ever since I was a child, I have been fascinated by creation — by the possibility of making something exist where, only moments before, there was nothing.

A blank page could become a face. A few lines could become movement. Layers of colour could carry an emotion that words could not express. Creating felt almost magical to me: taking an empty surface and giving it energy, meaning and life.

As I grew older, life became filled with studying, working and responsibilities. Slowly, almost without noticing, I stopped creating. And somewhere along the way, I also began to feel disconnected from a part of myself.

I returned to art during a period when I felt far away from who I was. At first, I did not draw with the intention of building a career or creating a brand. I simply needed to feel something again.

With every line, shape and layer of colour, I rediscovered the feeling that had fascinated me as a child. Creating reminded me that emptiness does not have to remain empty. That something meaningful can emerge from uncertainty. That colour can become emotion, and that a blank surface can begin to feel alive.

This idea now lies at the heart of my work.

My art explores emotion, movement and the contrast between intensity and stillness. The subjects and styles may change, but every piece begins with the same belief: creation has the power to reconnect us with ourselves and with the feeling of being alive.

I create from feeling, and I hope my work creates a feeling in return — a memory, an emotion, a moment of energy or a quiet sense of recognition.

Selin Sebby is art made to feel alive.
